Beyond London: BFC’s 1,000 Events

The British Fashion Council (BFC) will expand London Fashion Week beyond London this September. It is launching a new “Fashion Britain” programme that will stage more than 1,000 events across the UK, including in Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol, Dundee, and Edinburgh. Free panel talks, exhibitions, performances, retail events, and more will take place simultaneously in cities nationwide.
The programme is an expanded version of the “City Wide Celebration” initiative that BFC began last year in Manchester and Newcastle before extending it to Liverpool. It reflects a goal of dispersing the resources and opportunities of the fashion industry, long concentrated in London, across the country. BFC has presented it as a core pillar of its four-year “Strategy 2030.”
BFC chief executive Laura Weir said it is important to discover and invest in talent wherever it is in the UK, explaining that the aim of the programme is to widen pathways for creativity and growth beyond London.

The Club Gen Z Missed, YSL Built in a Public Square

In July, the lanes of Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s old town in Spain, were transformed overnight from a Balearic resort setting into something closer to Berlin’s club district. Crowds in black tank tops and slip dresses filled the streets as DJs played music, with only the words “YSL Beauty” on the wall indicating who was behind the party.
This was not an impromptu street party but a scene from YSL Beauty’s ongoing “block party” series. The brand has already recreated club culture by taking over cafés and public squares in cities such as Marseille, Jakarta, and Madrid. Rather than stores or runways, it uses everyday urban spaces as its stage.
Behind this movement is Gen Z’s nostalgia for club culture. A generation that has never truly experienced nightlife is being drawn to the atmosphere of an era where music and fashion mixed, gathering at parties created by brands. For fashion labels, club aesthetics have now moved beyond campaign concepts to become experiences they create and sell directly.

Location Snap: On-Location Outfit Shots Completed with Google Street View
RealSnap’s Location Snap is a feature that creates model outfit shots using real places selected from Google Street View as the background. It is mainly used by brand marketers who need overseas location concepts each season, or by small seller teams that find it difficult to schedule separate travel shoots.
Because it shifts the process of securing a background—such as location scouting, hiring local staff, and renting spaces—into Street View search, it reduces the stage of comparing multiple candidate locations.
